The Social Action Committee has a mission of making all of us, as a BIJ community, aware of challenging issues that require societal action. Not only do we address global concerns, we also help feed residents of the Tenderloin district, tutor underserved children in the Crocker Amazon district, and assist in projects that make a difference in people’s lives locally.
We have many other projects that we would like to proceed with. For example, it would be wonderful to have a team to address the needs of our own members, for example, driving seniors to synagogue.
The Social Action Committee has created an opportunity for every Beth Israel-Judea member to participate in social action. Our projects connect us all together in doing acts of kindness. As a committee, we are small. We know each of you in your own way is committed to Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, and we hope you will join us as you can in these noble tasks.
