Make Tzedakah Grow Program

Congregation Beth Israel-Judea is proud of its Social Action Committee's Make Tzedakah Grow Program. The program uses the "challenge" model organized by families to grow funds for a specific charity. The family starts a fund and challenges the congregation to match its seed money.

For example, after the terrible tsunami in South Asia, the congregation raised more than $7,000 for the American Jewish World Service that was used by community-based organizations to provide help with rehabilitation and reconstruction work.

Other beneficiaries of the Make Tzedakah Grow program include the United Humanitarian Garden, the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and the Spindrift School of Performing Arts in Pacifica.
