Over the past half a decade, anti-semitism has been on the rise in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as worldwide. The congregation is committed to working against hatred through education as well as action in our community and to help all Jews in other countries.

In the winter of 2007, BIJ was co-sponsor with other Jewish groups of Finding Our Voice, a conference that examined the range of anti-Jewish and anti-Israel messages now coming from the political left and explored possible responses to these attacks. A delegation of members attended the conference along with Rabbi Rosalind.
