Selichot for the Earth 5771

Our Selichot program this year includes a film, discussion, Havdallah and noshes, followed by a brief Selichot service. It will be held on September 4 at 6:30 p.m.

We will screen a well-received independent film with a mission to raise awareness of the many issues related to plastic trash, to inspire action and to create positive change in the community.  Following the film, there will be a facilitated discussion with Rabbi Rosalind and Jolie Egert, Principal at Go Wild Consulting.  We will consider the steps we can take to do teshuvah with the natural world.

The program continues with our Selichot service, dressing our Torah scrolls in white, and chanting prayers that highlight the themes and melodies of the coming High Holidays.
