Sisterhood, the Women of BIJ, is an intergenerational group of women who gather to serve the BIJ community in a variety of ways, both philanthropic and social.
Sisterhood donates money each year to the religious school and funds the yearly Rabbi Herbert Morris Scholarship award. Sisterhood organizes and subsidizes philanthropic events such as a yearly luncheon for residents of the Jewish Home for the Aged, and communicates with those suffering from sickness and bereavement and cooks and brings meals to those who would appreciate a meal for whatever reason.
Sisterhood organizes approximately one social activity per month. Some, such as the Coming Reel Soon film series and the annual "Incredible Edibles" events and Family Game Night, are for the benefit of the entire BIJ community. Others such as the annual Sisterhood brunch are for Sisterhood members only. Upcoming events include a Hanukkah Fair on December 11 and the popular Incredible Edibles event on February 25.
