Care & Concern: Food IS Love

Imagine how surprised the Care & Concern Committee (C&CC) was when a number of offers of personal food delivery were turned down by fellow congregants experiencing one of life’s rough patches! We began to realize how difficult it is at times for people actually to accept gifts. After all, aren’t we all taught from an early age to be stoic and self sufficient?

The Sisterhood C&CC would like to set the record straight. When we hear about a fellow congregant who might be a bit under the weather, we call to share home cooked food created by our own C&CC Cooks.

We do so because it feels good to give and because we at BIJ are on a continual search for community. It is our hope that, if we all open our hearts, both giving and receiving will be the joy and comfort it is supposed to be.

If you know someone who might appreciate a meal, please contact us! If you like to cook or feel you can occasionally deliver a meal to someone in your general area, please call Ronnie Zuckerberg at (415) 824-4440 or e-mail ronniezuckerberg@gmail.com!
