Yiddish Dance and Traditional Hasidic Melodies: Sing, stomp, whirl and clap to the soulful dance nigguns of the Hasidim and the rollicking rhythms of its secular cousin, Yiddish dance. Bruce Bierman, artistic director of the Jewish Dance Theatre of San Francisco, presents four workshops on this lost art form which is now beginning to enjoy a resurgence in popularity.

Bruce Bierman is artistic director of the Jewish Dance Theatre which, along with creating original collaborative productions, offers traditional Jewish dance workshops and programs for all ages. JDT has been a presenter for the Berkeley Jewish Music Festival, KlezCalifornia, and the SF Bureau of Jewish Education Jewish Community Library. Jewish Dance Theatre currently holds artist's residencies with Congregation Sherith Israel, Beth Shalom, the JCCSF, the JCC East Bay, and Lehrhaus Judaica.
