1:45-3:45 PM: NEW Program! "FOOD FOR THE SOUL," a facilitated An Interactive Storytelling Experience in Fellowship Hall led by Libby and Len Traubman of the San Mateo Living Room Dialogues. This face-to-face, heart-to-heart program is meant to help restore hope, connection and vibrancy to our lives and community. Everyone is welcome to attend this FREE program. 4-4:30 PM: YOU SHALL BE HOLY: Our Yom Kippur afternoon Torah service with feature a community-wide Aliyah in the sanctuary followed by a creative English rendition of the book of Jonah, chanted by our own Elie Aharon. Ira Scott Levin will lead us in singing his poignant and spiritually uplifting Jonah song.
4:30-5:15 PM: NEW SERVICE of WHOLENESS & HEALING: On this holiest of days we gather as one and remember that in this journey of life, none of us is alone! This unique healing service features inspirational readings, moving prayers, affirming meditations, and uplifting songs with Ira Scott Levin on guitar and featuring Julia Bordenaro on piano and vocals. Everyone is welcome to attend this FREE, beautiful service. Join us and invite your friends.
5:15-5:45 PM (Please note the new time): YIZKOR SERVICE We remember beloved deceased family, friends and BIJ community members and contemplate the meaning of our own mortality. Our Annual Book of Remembrance listing names of those we are remembering will guide our reflections.
5:45-6:30 PM: Our introspective Neilah service takes place during the waning hours of the day, “as the gates begin to close.” Everyone who wishes to do so is welcome to take a private moment at the ark to offer their prayers.
Arm in arm with our BIJ friends and family we will conclude with a final blast of the shofar and a rousing L’Shana Haba’ah, to another blessed year of LIFE!
